Groundwater Point of Diversion Change Application Evaluation Tool


The purpose of this tool is to evaluate the portability of groundwater rights within the groundwater management plan area. The tool evaluates a groundwater change with respect to Appropriation Policy items 2, 4 and 5 only. A proposed change may be further evaluated against additional criteria prior to a final decision.

Instructions:

  • To evaluate a change enter a heretofore and a hereafter location.
  • Heretofore input:
    • Select an input type of either "Coordinates" or "Water Right/Change."
    • Choose "Coordinates" to enter latitude and longitude coordinates. Click the "Use Map" button to get coordinates from an interactive map. Click the "Use PLS" button to get coordinates from a PLS location.
    • Choose "Water Right/Change" to enter a water right number or change application, which will evaluate all of the water right's approved groundwater points of diversion as of June 4, 2013.
    • Leave the heretofore input blank to see a map showing an area from where a point of diversion can be considered for change to the given hereafter location.
  • Hereafter input:
    • Enter latiude and longitude coordinates.
    • Click the "Use Map" button to get coordinates from an interactive map. Click the "Use PLS" button to get coordinates from a PLS location.
    • Leave the hereafter input blank to see a map showing an area to where the given heretofore location(s) can be considered for change.
    • If a change application is specified for the heretofore, any inputted hereafter location is ignored; the hereafter of the change application is used.
  • Once the heretofore and/or hereafter have been chosen click the "Submit" button.
