GIS Data and Related Tables

Shapefiles listed here are Water Rights downloadable statewide GIS data sets as executable files (.EXE extension). These files when executed uncompress into multiple files which make up a shapefile dataset. Static shapefiles are updated as major revisions are made. Other shapefiles are updated daily from Division tabular datasets.

Large datasets can be obatained throught the State FTP site ftp://ftp.utah.gov/

GIS Data and Related Tables are projected using the North American Datum of 1927, UTM Zone 12 North, Clarke 1866 Ellipsoid.

ADJAREAS (executable zipped shapefile)

CFWEA (executable zipped shapefile)

Point shapefile which contains locations used in USU Research Report 145 for computing consumptive use.

DAM BREACH INUNDATION MAPS (executable zipped shapefile)

DAM BREACH INUNDATION MAP CROSS SECTIONS (executable zipped shapefile)

Polyline shapefile of cross Sections containing profile information of worst case hypothetical catastrophic dam breach including flood elevation, depth, flow, timing and velocity at a given distance from the dam. Click here for the Cross Sections Federal Geographic Data Council Compliant Metadata.

WATERUSE (executable zipped shapefile)

Polygon shapefile of municipal water suppliers. Attributed with Name and WebLink.

WRADVERT (executable zipped shapefile)

Shapefile of points of diversion that are currently being advertised to provide notice. The shapefile is generated daily from basic information in the tabular database. Attributed. See WRPOD Metadata for Federal GeographicData Council Compliant Metadata.

WRAREAS (executable zipped shapefile)

WRDVRT (executable zipped shapefile)

WRDVRT is a point shapefile of diversion related information obtained by staff while in the field. The shapefile is generated daily from basic information in the tabular database. No annotation. Attributed. Click here for Federal Geographic Data Council Compliant Metadata for the DVRT shapefile.

WRPOD (executable zipped shapefile)

Shapefile of points of diversion from Water Rights database. The shapefile is generated daily from basic information in the tabular database. Attributed. Related tables are available. Click here for Federal GeographicData Council Compliant Metadata for the WRPOD shapefile.

WRPOU (executable zipped shapefile)

Polygon shapefile of irrigated acreage for entire state. Work on this data layer is still in progress. Information in the shapefiles may be incomplete or outdated. Base information for the layer comes from digitized hydrographic survey maps. Updates from proof maps are added as they are received. Additional attribute information is available. A Log File of revisions to the shapefile is also available.

WRSTRALT (executable zipped shapefile)

Shapefile of points showing stream alteration appplications. The shapefile is generated daily from basic information in the tabular database Attributed.

No GIS coverage is currently available, just a downloadable table. This data set contains name and contact information for various water companies and entities in Utah.
